The Iowa Wildlife Rehabilitators Association is a non-profit organization, founded in 1986, with the goal of improving the ability of licensed rehabilitators to provide care for distressed wildlife and to support natural resource conservation.

Our Mission

  • to provide licensed rehabilitators, veterinarians, environmental educators, biologists, animal control agents, humane societies, and other interested individuals with the most current information regarding the rescue and rehabilitation of indigenous wild animals
  • to promote networking among members, provide training workshops, and encourage the practice of professional standards and ethics
  • to help the public obtain assistance for distressed wildlife through our network of licensed wildlife rehabilitators
  • to increase public knowledge and awareness of wildlife conservation issues and inspire positive action for a better environment
  • to work cooperatively with wildlife agencies to collect information to enhance wildlife research and conservation efforts

You'll feel once more the wind in your wind
in your wings
Or climb where the tall mountains stand.
You'll run the wide praire,
Or haunt the dark forest.
My friend, you will be wild again,
My friend, you will be wild again.
